The 2022 Oscars will go down in history as one of the most shocking ones in recent times. However, apart from the altercation between Will Smith and Chris Rock, something else caught fans’ attention as well. Skateboarding legend, Tony Hawk, arrived at the Oscars with a cane in his hand. Reportedly, the skating phenomenon suffered an injury to his leg ahead of the awards ceremony.
Hawk broke his femur in a skating accident that caused a serious injury to his leg. He posted his X-rays photos as his leg was severely damaged. Moreover, he spoke about the recovery process being long and that it will take some time to heal completely.
Tony Hawk uses a cane at the Oscars
Hawk arrived for the 94th Academy Awards with his wife Cathy Goodman. Now 53, Hawk admitted that the recovery times are getting longer. He arrived in Los Angeles in a Gucci suit and rocked the red carpet. Back after his injury, he spoke about how he was going to present the Oscars with an interesting tweet.
“If being in every Jackass movie, xXx, Police Academy 4, and Sharknado 5 doesn’t qualify me to present at the Oscars, then your taste in movies needs readjusting,” mentioned Hawk.
He had even earlier posted an Instagram video, explaining where he injured his leg. Talking about the whole process, Hawk even spoke about being invited to the Oscars and how thrilled he was. Hawk mentioned:
“I have been invited to present an Oscar at the Academy Awards (!?), greatly expediting my wishful timeline for walking unaided. In other words, I don’t plan to crutch my way across the stage. Hopefully, you’re not watching the 4K feed so you won’t see me grimacing with each step. And thanks to Gucci for providing clothes to my wife and I for the occasion since we don’t have a closet full of Oscar-appropriate apparel.”
