Son of Brit Hume was 'destined for great career in journalism'
Fox News correspondent Sandy Hume was found dead in his Arlington, Va., apartment on Sunday, according to Fox News sources.
Details were not available late Monday, but officials are speculating that the death may have been a suicide.
Hume, 28, was the son of Fox News Channel Washington managing editor and former ABC correspondent Brit Hume and the stepson of Kim Hume, Washington bureau chief for Fox News.
The younger Hume was hired only a month ago by Fox News to be a correspondent on his father’s Fox NewsChannel show, “Special Report With Brit Hume,” and had appeared several times on the program.
Prior to his position at Fox News, Hume worked for two years at the Washington-based political weekly paper, the Hill, where he covered the Republicans. Last July, Hume was credited with breaking the story of the “coup against Newt Gingrich.”

“Sandy was an extraordinarily talented young man, destined for a great career in journalism,” said editor-in-chief and publisher of the Hill, Marty Tolchin. “We’re devastated.”
Fox News released the following statement: “The staff of Fox News extends its heartfelt condolences to Brit and his family. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.”
