This consultation on the proposed Forest of Dean District Council (off street parking places) Order 2012 will run until Thursday 23 February at 5pm.
The council say 'Introducing car parking management is vital to ensure residents and visitors can find a parking space more easily in our Forest towns and villages. It also will lead to a fairer system where the costs of providing and maintaining the car parks will not burden the tax payer as it will be those who use the car parks that contribute towards running them. Although there are no charges at present car parks are not free - the council spends £163,000 of local taxpayers’ money to cover the annual costs.'
it will effect car parks in:

- Heywood Road
- Coleford -
- Newland Street
- Railway Drive
- Bank Street
- Lydney -
- Bream Road
- Newerne Street Overflow
