A newborn baby has been left fighting for his life after his pregnant mother was allegedly shot dead by her ex-fiance after she dumped him in Minnesota.
Messiah was hospitalized after Kyla O'Neal, 31, was gunned down inside her car allegedly by Donte Raphael McCray, 32, in Lakeville, Minneapolis.
The youngster was left with no brain function but his family said they were 'holding on to faith' as he remains in intensive care.
O'Neal was shot dead in the parking lot of the Amazon warehouse where McCray worked in Lakeville on Sunday night.

The expectant mother was fatally shot after she tried to end their relationship, having been rushed to a nearby hospital before passing away.
Her baby was delivered and has been fighting for his life but, suffering from traumatic brain injury.

His criminal record shows a judge ordered in May he not possess any firearms because of a criminal conviction. He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday.

Kyla had three other children and one of those children was a daughter she shared with McCray.
Grief-stricken family members described the young mother as outspoken and driven, who had a promising future.
'All she ever thought about doing was making a life for her and her kids,' she said, 'She was looking forward to the baby's birth,' CBS News reported.
Police said when officers responded to the 911 call, the gunman-ex-fiance was there with another one of their children, KARE News reported.
'When we have a situation where a pregnant female has been critically injured, it just adds another whole layer of stress and emotion to that call because now, we've got another human being we're trying to save as well,' Police Commander William Gerl said.
