The Oklahoma City Thunder team apparently has a Hollywood star look-alike. A 20-year-old player has been regarded to have an uncanny resemblance to the Call Me By Your Name star. Ever since Josh Giddey’s debut into the NBA, his looks have always drawn parallels to Academy Award nominee Timothee Chalamet. Back in 2021, reporter Lang Whitaker dubbed him the “Timothee Chalamet of the NBA“. Fans labeled him as the Chalamet “with a jumper“. In tonight’s game between the Chicago Bulls (19-24) and the Oklahoma City Thunder (20-23), he was again brought back to the comparison by the broadcaster.
The Bulls’ announcer called Giddey the “NBA’s version of Timothee Chalamet” on the broadcast. Giddey got creative with it on his social media.
Josh Giddey & Timothee Chalamet’s connection
Giddey reposted a photo of him and Chalamet and reintroduced himself as, “Himothee Chalamet”. He may have gotten on the bandwagon of the “He’s Him” trend. The NBA Twitter has labeled many players as “Him” to refer to a player that plays exceptionally well.
Both of them have thick eyebrows, curly hair, and a sculpted jawline. They also started out young in their respective fields. While Chalamet has established himself as a great actor with several films, Giddey too is marking his name, one game at a time.
The Athletic noted that Josh Giddey has been having a “perfectly fine second season“. He is a “good player already” at age 20. He finished tonight with 25 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists.
Giddey making a name for himself
The year began with Giddey joining an esteemed list of players with an incredible, historical feat. Josh Giddey, off-late, has surprised everyone by being a “triple-double machine“.
According to Clutch Points, “Against the Miami Heat, Giddey joined [Luka] Doncic, Grant Hill and Ben Simmons as the only players to record 1000 points, 700 rebounds and 500 assists in their first 100 career games“. The Australian player was in his 90th game that night.
They noted that he has justified his sixth overall pick in the Thunder franchise. He is currently in his second season, who has transformed himself into an “impactful player who gets things done on both ends of the floor“.
The Bulls lost to the Thunder, 110-124 at the United Center tonight.
