Ever wondered how to build a sex room? Well, you're in the right place. We are BIG fans of a interiors show, from Reese Witherspoon's The Home Edit to reality show Dream Home Makeover, we just cannot get enough. We love a transition, whether it's a person (we're looking at you, Queer Eye) or a home. if it involves a reveal, we're into it. But the latest Netflix interior design show is slightly different from the norm, because rather than building houses or turning around bedrooms on a shoestring budget, this latest drop from the streaming site is a whole lot raunchier.
How To Build A Sex Room follows interior designer Melanie - who specialises in pleasure rooms - as she helps a whole range of people create the ‘Red Room’ of their dreams. We told you it was juicy.
The series, which premiered on the site last week, is already a big hit with viewers looking to spice up their sofa steaming session and it's not hard to see why.
Here is everything we know about the show that has got the interior design world talking…
What is How To Build A Sex Room about? It's pretty self-explanatory as far as TV show titles go. The show follows British designer Melanie Rose - who is known as the “Mary Poppins of Pleasure”, apparently - as she creates bespoke adults-only playgrounds for clients across the US. The projects range from a sumptuous Las Vegas-themed suite for a married couple stuck in a sex drought to a pleasure basement for polyamorous 'family' of seven.
“A sex room can be anything from a sumptuous bedroom to a dungeon under the stairs,” Melanie explains in the opening episode. “But when I design them, they can be beautiful, they can be fantasies, they can be anything my clients desire."
Her clients include entrepreneurs, bankers, teachers and police officers. “Maybe even your next door neighbour,” she says. “They say you never know what goes on behind closed doors. But I do.”
What are people saying about How To Build A Sex Room?As you can imagine, the show has got tongues wagging (both literally and figuratively), with viewers taking to Twitter to share their thoughts on the show - and they're pretty positive to say the least.

Melanie Rose is hilarious and a fucking genius. Watch it immediately,” wrote one fan, while another added: “If you thought you had plans with me, no you don't, I've got a date with How to Build a Sex Room.”
While others found themselves simply marvelling at the idea of someone having the space to fit such an extravagant space.
“Watching How to Build a Sex Room on Netflix and mainly marveling at the idea of being affluent enough to not ONLY have a whole room dedicated *just* for sex but to like… have it custom designed to boot,” user @lacryluna said, adding in a second tweet: “That said I love seeing sex positive couples that are mad about each other and I hope the show inspires curious people to play outside of the box so to speak. The show’s cute.”
