The Love Island 2023 summer finale might be the only thing on our minds right now as - Whitney Adebayo and Lochan Nowacki currently stand as the bookie's top couple to scoop £50,000 prize - but it seems our favourite reality TV show won't be back until next summer.

According to reports from the MailOnline, the winter series of Love Island has been axed for a second time due to low ratings. However, it's not all bad news as fans of the show have something else to look forward to, a brand new dating show called All Stars which is set to take its place, airing in early 2024.

In 2020, the first winter series aired but it was cancelled in 2021 and returned in January this year when Maya Jama took over the helm from former presenter Laura Whitmore. There were hopes that Jama would help boost ratings however, the viewing stats remained low for the winter series, reportedly forcing bosses to shake things up for 2024.

TV insiders told the MailOnline that new show All Stars will feature Love Island contestants from previous shows filmed not only in the UK but US and Australia. Sources suggest this new dating show will be filmed in South Africa and casting producers are apparently on the search for single former stars of the show to sign up. Oooh, there are rumours that Megan Barton-Hanson from the 2018 series, has signed up already.

A source told the newspaper: "The winter series of Love Island has been axed for a second time… viewers just aren't interested in watching the show twice a year.

"It will be replaced by a brand new All Stars series, which will feature former Islanders who are still looking for love.

“In terms of iconic Love Island stars who are now happily married including the likes of Olivia Attwood, producers are looking into cameo appearances so that they still involve fan favourites from the years gone by.”

A spokesperson for ITV said: “Love Island returns to ITV2 and ITVX in 2024.”
